Ilsekiez: CDU, FDP, Grüne und SPD wollen keinen Denkmalschutz für die Gebäude in Lichtenberg

Die Bezirksverordneten von CDU, FDP, Grünen und SPD in der BVV Lichtenberg wollen nicht prüfen, ob die Gebäude des Ilsekiezes unter Denkmalschutz gestellt werden können. Nur die Bezirksverordneten der AfD und der Linken sprachen sich bei der BVV-Sitzung am 15. Dezember für den Antrag „Prüfung eines denkmalpflegerischen Ensembleschutzes für den Ilsekiez“ der AfD aus. In diesem heißt es: „Das Bezirksamt wird ersucht, über die Untere Denkmalsschutzbehörde die Prüfung eines denkmalpflegerischen Ensembleschutzes für den Ilsekiez zu veranlassen.“

Heribert Eisenhardt, Bezirksverordneter der AfD, erklärt dazu:

„In der Debatte um den Ilsekiez wurde bisher versäumt, die Aspekte des Denkmalschutzes zu betrachten. Bei den Wohngebäuden im Ilsekiez handelt es sich um erstmalig ab 1957 in Blockbauweise errichtete Experimentalbauten mit vorgefertigten Großblöcken aus Ziegelsplittbeton. Aus den Unterlagen des Bezirks geht dazu folgendes hervor: ‚1956-1957 –  Zwischen Marksburg- und Ilsestraße entstehen nach Entwürfen von Leopold Wiel die ersten versuchsweise errichteten Großblockbauten mit austauschbaren Beton-Bauelementen sowie verschiedenartigen Grundrissen und Fassaden.‘

In der vom Museum Lichtenberg zur Architektur-Moderne in Lichtenberg herausgegebenen Schrift (Kultur-Tour 3 Pkt. 5) zu Besonderheiten Karlshorsts wird erwähnt: ‚Wohnbauten in Blockbauweise (1956/57), Marksburgstraße 6-17, Ilsestraße 18-30, Lisztstraße 1-5, Architekten: Leopold Wiel und Mitarbeiter, TU Dresden. Aufsehenerregend sind die Häuser nicht. Dennoch sind sie etwas Besonderes, nämlich Prototypen der Blockbauweise, entworfen von Leopold Wiel. Sein Ziel: größtmögliche Varianz unter Verwendung weniger Fertigteile. Die acht Wohnblöcke wurden 1956 montiert, frei stehend, ohne strenge rechte Winkel und um weite Wohnhöfe angeordnet. Das Zentrum des Wohnensembles an der Ecke zur Sangeallee ist geschickt hervorgehoben. Die heutige Wärmedämmung kaschiert den ursprünglichen Charakter. Auch der einst durch rot gefärbte Elemente aus Ziegelsplittbeton akzentuierte Block an der Marksburgstraße verlor sein Alleinstellungsmerkmal.‘

Lichtenberg hat – einmalig in der Bundesrepublik – die gesamte Geschichte des modernen Bauens in einem Bezirk zu bieten: Angefangen von den ersten deutschen Betonhäusern (Schlackebeton) ab 1871, über das Portland-Cement-Haus in der Dönhoffstraße und die Splanemannsiedlung, bis zur Großblockbauweise (Ilse-Kiez) und Plattenbauweise.

Ein Ensemble wie der Ilsekiez ist deshalb aus der Sicht des Denkmalschutzes noch einmal besonders würdig, erhalten zu bleiben.“
